Answers to your 'commonly asked' questions
For additional questions, please use the contact details on our contact us page.
How long does the process take?
You can expect to have your designs ready in under 14-21 working days post-approval. (If your space is a lot more complex and needs more time for us to do a good job, we will let you know in advance)
Can I modify/ amendment my design?
You can request unlimited changes as part of the standard service costs.
We sometimes don’t get it right. We’d like to offer you the option to rethink a few things and request an amendment.
If you need a completely different design created, you must place a new order. We offer a 35% discount for any additional orders.
Why do you ask for payment upfront?
We’ve been designing gardens all across the country for a long time and we’re confident in our ability to deliver a quality service. Asking for payment upfront allows us to dedicate our time and resources to your project.
Can I call you if I have questions?
Absolutely! We’re always here to help and you can find our contact information below.
What Is Your Refund Policy?
You can request a refund at any time before the kickoff call takes place. However, due to the nature of our work, refunds cannot be issued once we have started working on the first concept.
Is It Possible For You To Draw My Plan Without Visiting It?
Yes — this is how we work on the majority of our projects.
We use a combination of modern 3D scanning technology, client-supplied information, and publicly available data to understand your garden accurately — without the need for an in-person site visit.
Using a simple scanning app on your phone, you can walk around your garden and create a 3D scan that captures:
Levels and changes in height
Measurements and proportions
The overall layout of the space
These scans allow us to work in three dimensions, creating immersive designs that we can virtually walk through. This approach removes the need for costly land surveys in most cases and significantly reduces overall project costs.
Alongside this, we also work with:
Photos and video walkthroughs
Publicly available data such as Google Maps and Street View
Existing drawings or plans from previous works (architect drawings, land registry plans, purchase documents, etc.)
By combining these sources, we build a highly accurate understanding of your space and design accordingly. If anything further is required, we’ll let you know early in the process.
Do I Need a Budget in Mind Before Starting?
You don’t need a final budget — but you do need intent.
Many clients come to us early, before costs are fully defined. Our role is to help you understand what’s realistic for your space and guide decisions that align with your priorities.
Having a rough idea of comfort range is helpful, but clarity often comes through the design process, not before it.
Is This Right If I’m Not Building Yet?
Yes — in fact, this is often the best time to start.
Designing early allows you to:
Make calm, considered decisions
Avoid rushed or reactive spending
Plan the garden in phases if needed
Our designs are created to stand the test of time, whether you build immediately or later.
Can I Build the Design in Phases?
Absolutely.
Many of our clients choose to build their garden in stages. The design acts as a long-term masterplan, allowing you to:
Prioritise key areas first
Spread costs over time
Keep everything cohesive as you build
This approach gives you control without compromising the final vision.
Can I Use My Own Builder or Landscaper?
Yes — you’re never tied to specific contractors.
Our designs are created to be clear and buildable, so you can work with:
Your existing builder
A local landscaper
Or manage elements yourself if you choose
The design gives everyone a clear reference point to work from.
Why Are Your Designs More Detailed Than Others I’ve Seen?
Our designs are built to solve problems, not just look good.
We think through:
How the space will actually be used
How areas connect and flow
How decisions affect future build stages
How trades will interpret the design
This level of thinking often results in more detailed outputs — because clarity upfront prevents mistakes later.
What If My Garden Is an Awkward Shape or Has Levels?
These are exactly the kinds of gardens we work with most.
Slopes, level changes, narrow plots, overlooked spaces, or unusual layouts are common challenges — and they’re often where good design makes the biggest difference.
Rather than seeing these as limitations, we design with them in mind.
How Is This Different From Hiring a Local Garden Designer?
The biggest difference is process and clarity.
We specialise in remote, structured garden design, which allows us to:
Focus purely on design quality
Work efficiently without location constraints
Use advanced visual tools and systems
Design hundreds of gardens across different sites and conditions
You’re not just getting drawings — you’re buying into a proven design process refined over hundreds of projects.

What If I Don’t Know What Style I Want Yet?
That’s completely normal — and not a problem.
Many clients come to us knowing what they don’t like, but struggling to define what they do. Part of our role is to help you:
Clarify preferences
Translate ideas into a cohesive direction
Make confident decisions
You don’t need all the answers before starting — that’s what the process is for.
Will a Landscaper Be Able to Build This?
Yes — buildability is a core part of how we design.
While our service focuses on design rather than construction, we always consider real-world constraints and practical execution. The aim is to create designs that:
Make sense on site
Can be clearly interpreted by trades
Avoid unnecessary complexity
We design with implementation in mind, even if you build later.
Do You Help With Costs or Budget Control?
We help you make better-informed decisions, not guesses.
While we’re not acting as a contractor or quantity surveyor, our designs are created to:
Prevent over-design
Highlight where money is best spent
Support phased or prioritised builds
This approach often saves clients money by avoiding changes mid-build.
How Many Gardens Like Mine Have You Designed?
We’ve designed hundreds of gardens across a wide range of:
Sizes
Styles
Site conditions
Locations
From compact urban plots to large family gardens, from flat sites to complex levels — it’s rare we see something entirely new. That experience feeds directly into how we guide each project.
